Launching of Women Wise3

The launching ng Women WISE3 last Aug. 13, 2008 was marked by a dialogue with then Commission on Human Rights Chair Leila de Lima. Members urged the CHR to revive the cases of 1) victims of extra-judicial killings such as labor leaders Diosdado Fortuna, Gerardo Cristobal, Buth Servida and the victims of the Hacienda Luisita massacre 2) victim of enforced disappearance, Rogelio Concepcion 3) and other victims of human rights violations in the workplace such as Hanjin Garments in Laguna, Chongwon and Philsjoen in Cavite, Bluestar Workers Labor Union among others

Women Wise3 Dialogue with the Commission on Human Rights

The launch was followed by a photo exhibit and a forum on the effects on women of globalization and militarization. These were held in UP Diliman. The forum had prominent speakers namely Gabriela Representative Luz Ilagan and Prof. Melania Abad of UP Diliman.
