Below are pictures of Women WISE3 as it celebrates its 2nd Anniversary on August 13, 2010. The celebration started in a dialogue with the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) led by Commissioner Maria Victoria Cardona. Cases of various workers rights violations were raised and clarified, particularly the cases discussed in the recent Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC) report and other recent findings of the commission about the previously filed incidents of harassment, intimidation, and other cases that violate the Right to Freedom of Association, Organize and Collectively Bargain. Women WISE3 representatives from different regions attended the dialogue.
After the dialogue, the representatives headed to Maryhill School of Theology in E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue where the other members awaited. They held a general assembly to discuss the achievements and future plans of the organization. It ended with the members signing the renewal of commitment. Individuals and organizations from different sectors also joined the assembly and shared their messages of solidarity.
The general assembly was followed by a noise barrage and balloon flying held in a nearby community. Members and their supporters registered their calls written in black cartolinas and yellow balloons.
The Women WISE3 continues to call for justice for the hundreds and still increasing cases of extrajudicial killings, abductions, harassments and other violations against workers rights.
